Rathfinny Mini Cuvée 2023

England’s First 50cl Bottle of Sparkling Wine

Crafted from a blend of 55% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Meunier, the 2023 Mini Cuvée is bottle-fermented and aged for 18 months on its lees. The result is a wine of real depth and precision, with the chalk-driven freshness that defines our single-estate wines.

“A light yeasty autolytic impression at first, lots of fine bubbles, and lots of fruit: peachy, grapefruit-like citrus and just a hint of red fruits. But the dominant impression is peachy stone-fruit. More citrus on the palate and rounded with a touch of pear and apple and creamy texture. Fine mousse disappears relatively quickly but that might be the glass. High acidity well balanced by the dosage. Neither complex nor simple but gives harmonious and easy pleasure.” 16.5 points. 2023 Vintage Notes

The 2023 growing season began with a cool spring and a slightly later budburst, followed by the hottest June on record in the UK. Variable summer conditions supported healthy vine development, while a warm spell in September allowed the fruit to ripen evenly ahead of the October harvest. The resulting wines combine freshness and balance with expressive fruit character.
