Reception

The main Estate Office is accessed by steps or a permanent ramp and through a 1040mm door with no step.

Office Space and Facilities

The Office is predominately wood flooring with the meeting room being fitted with short pile carpet. Fully accessible toilet with emergency pull cord and grab rails. The building is covered by a fully monitored fire alarm system.


Flint Barns

Please note there is no lift at the Flint Barns to the first and second floors.

We also have a set of bike racks for those wishing to arrive by bicycle.

Car Parking

There is ample lit car parking on a level surface by the front entrance to the Flint Barns Courtyard, which leads to the main entrance of the Flint Barns.

For those that need it, you can drive to the side of the Flint Barns for a closer drop off and return to the car park.

We also have some additional parking on the slope leading to the Flint Barns, but note the ground is uneven and not well lit.

Disabled parking bays have been marked and are reserved.

Reception and Check-in

Access into this purpose-built facility is via the main entrance door or via the courtyard door which are 880mm wide and has a 70mm step which can be accessed by a metal ramp on request if needed. All other internal doors on the ground floor are a minimum of 810mm wide. Corridor width downstairs is 1460mm.

Fire alarm, evacuation procedures and emergency contact details are all provided in the red folder in your room. All corridor and stairwell landing areas are covered by CCTV. Entrance to the building is via a camera linked buzzer or by using key fob provided once checked in. 

Public Facilities

Toilets including an accessible toilet are provided on the ground floor with emergency pull cords and grab rails, and baby changing facilities.

Accessible shower

We have an accessible shower on the Ground Floor, that is not open to the public nor in regular use. If you are staying in one of the Ground Floor bedrooms and would like to use this shower, please let us know beforehand so we can prepare it.

Ground Floor

Restaurant/dining area, like the rest of the building has a wooden floor. All chairs are without armrests. Two bedrooms are also located on the ground floor. All bedrooms are en suite with toilet and level floor shower room. Note the shower area is quite tight and not suitable for a wheelchair. Please see notes above about our accessible shower.

Lounge area has a blend of sofas and chairs with and without armrests. Courtyard is via a 40mm step accessed with a metal ramp on request if needed. Surface in the courtyard is brick paved tracks with gravel/shingle under main seating areas. Courtyard is also covered by CCTV and is well lit at night.

First and Second Floors

A further 8 bedrooms are situated over two floors accessed by wooden stairs with a height of 170mm per step and a stairwell width of 960mm. All communal areas have good natural light and are well lit during the evening.

All bedrooms are en suite with level floor showers. There is no lift. The whole building is covered by a fully monitored fire alarm.


The Cottage

There is no lift.

Access into the Cottage is via the main entrance door which is 770mm wide and has a 50mm step which can be accessed by a metal ramp on request if needed. All other internal doors on the ground floor are a minimum of 710mm wide.

There is a downstairs toilet accessible by a 780mm wide doorway.

Back door has steps so is not accessible.

Garden door also has steps so not suitable for wheelchair. A ramp would not be suitable.

In the kitchen, all distances between work top and breakfast bar are at least 950mm wide.

First floor

2 bedrooms are accessed by 13 wooden stairs with a height of 210mm per step and a stairwell width of 835mm.

Bathroom

There is a bath which is 620mm high and a walk-in shower with a slight step of 80mm. All doorways upstairs are 710mm wide and the corridor on the landing is 1140mm wide

Cellar Door (Including Tours)

There are two car parking areas. One, on a flat hard surface which is lit, is directly outside The Hut, the Cellar Door and the Tasting Room restaurant. Two disabled parking bays have been marked and are reserved. An additional parking area has been created to the front of the grain store, on a slight slope. The access route from here to the main area is primarily flat and concreted.

Cellar Door

Arrival into our purpose-built facility is via the Cellar Door entrance which is at least 2000mm with no step. The shop area is well lit and spacious and has a flat, hard flooring throughout. The building is covered by a fully monitored fire alarm.

Estate Tours

The Tours include time spent in the Vineyard and the Winery. The Vineyard element is on long gently sloped grass. The Winery element of the Tour includes access to the lower ground floor via a stairwell or lift. Stairwell is 950mm wide with a step height of 170mm. Stairwell is enclosed steel plating down two flights. All flooring is non-slip and the area is well lit throughout.

Tastings are conducted in a spacious and fully accessible area. The corridor leading from the Cellar Door to this space is 1.2m wide to ensure compliance with building regulations. All floors are concrete and are suitable for both walking aids and pushchairs.


The Tasting Room

Tasting Room

Arrival into our purpose-built facility is via the Tasting Room entrance door which is 1010mm with no step and via a corridor which is 1050mm wide. All floors are wood throughout.

The Tasting Room has very good natural light and is well lit during the evening. Access onto the veranda is either through the sliding doors with an 80mm step or via a flat entrance through an oak swing door near the main Tasting Room entrance. The building is covered by a fully monitored fire alarm. All chairs in the restaurant have armrests.

Facilities

Toilets with full handwashing and drying capabilities, as well as baby-changing facilities, are provided and one of these is for easier access with a wider door (90cm) and fitted with emergency pull cord and grab rails.


The Hut

The Hut is a mobile shepherd’s hut with a service counter that is 132 cm high, though staff are there to assist with any orders.

There are separate ladies and gents toilets with and entrance doorway that is 84 cm wide and cubicle doors of 62cm wide. It has a flat floor covered in non-slip vinyl. If disabled toilets or baby-changing facilities are required then the Tasting Room toilets are open and available (see above).
