Rathfinny Wine Estate

Biodiversity boost

If you venture to the eastern section of the Trail, below the Flint Barns you will get a glimpse of some incredible wildflowers we have sown.  These are in differing densities and varieties across this block to boost biodiversity.  Our aim for the duration of the research is to ascertain which varieties are best to attract parasitic wasps.  These wasps then can feed on the insects we do not wish to have on our vines – saves us using sprays and lets nature do the work for us.

All of the research forms part of a Phd being led my Sussex University and myself.  Please feel free to follow me on twitter @rathfinnyrich or email me with any questions
