TASTING NOTE

Vivid coral in hue, Rathfinny Rosé Brut 2016 Magnum has a lifted nose of wild strawberries and mandarin zest, giving way to a rich mousse of Rainier cherries and candied red apple skin, and a silky, strawberry shortcake finish.

Rathfinny 2016 Rosé Magnum shows stunning versatility as a food-matcher, enhancing the purity of salmon sashimi and pairing equally as well with buttermilk panna cotta with red summer berries.

VINTAGE

Budburst was timely, though it was very wet prior to flowering which, as a result, was slightly later than usual. However, we had a successful fruit set, despite July and the early part of August coming in cooler than normal. The second half of August brightened up with some very warm days, with this dry weather continuing throughout September until the end of the season, we picked in the latter part of October.

Tart redcurrant notions appear in that delicate, tender frame of very well integrated freshness. This is all about lightness, slenderness and ease, even though there is nothing facile about it.
