Rathfinny Wine Estate

New Staff

We’ve used Herdwick sheep for a few winters now and we would love to use cattle on our wildlife banks.  With issues related to TB we’ve been unable to obtain cattle on our sites.  It would be fantastic to see the delightful chestnut brown Sussex cows – perhaps one day….

These are new members to the team and are Exmoor ponies.  These hardy ponies will munch down on the vegetation and hopefully decrease the amount of Tor grass (Brachypodium pinnatum) we have on site.  This will in turn increase the diversity of wildflowers on the banks to the south of the Flint Barns.

Can’t wait to see the results.
