As I write this blog I’m on my way to Cornwall for a week’s break in Treyarnon near Padstow. I used to work in Treyarnon Bay and have fond memories of the area and people; I’m certainly going to try a couple of bottles of Camel Valley whilst I’m there along with a few other Cornish tipples. It’s been hectic on the Estate since the New Year and the Flint Barns have been no exception to this. We’ve launched our new website www.flintbarns.com and this has had over 1000 views already and with the website going live, we also launched the online booking engine and this has already been busy.

Talking of websites we’ve had excellent feedback from our listing on Sawday’s www.sawdays.co.uk which has resulted in a good amount of bookings and also the Group Accommodation website www.groupaccommodation.com, where we have also received several bookings for exclusive use.
The Flint Barns have been open for over a month now and we’ve had a steady flow of guests staying with us. It is an excellent building for wedding receptions, family get togethers, corporate away days and much, much more. A real home away from home!
Over the last few weeks we have also been busy building up our team. We now have Mark on board as our resident chef; he produces food that is sublime. Mark produces the food for our Vineyard Tours that have started again for 2015 and can be booked either at the Gun Room or online at http://www.rathfinnyestate.com/visit/tours/ . We have also recruited Philippa who works all over the Estate doing the Tours, working in the office and also with us in the Flint Barns, and hopefully we have another person starting with us this week who is a local lady and will complement the current team perfectly. There are still some vacancies at Rathfinny for events staff http://www.rathfinnyestate.com/work/ for our up coming music festival in June. This is going to be so popular and if you’ve not bought your tickets yet I’d certainly think about booking them very soon http://www.rathfinnyestate.com/events/

The big event happening for the Flint Barns over the next few weeks is both the opening of the Rathfinny Trail, see our latest newsletter for info: http://rathfinnyestate.com/newsletter/ and the opening of the Flint Barns Café serving plenty of lovely homemade goodies including our soon to be legendary “Winemaker’s Lunch” and “Tipsy Tea”. The café will be open Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 10.00am to 4.00pm to begin with and the only way to visit the café is via walking the Rathfinny Trail and with weather like we are having currently it’s well worth the effort.
