Rathfinny Wine Estate

Wednesday 26th February 2020 Art for breakfast £20

Following a light and healthy breakfast prepared by our Flint Barns chefs, Dr Darren Clarke, Head of Collections, Research and Exhibitions at Charleston will give a talk providing insight into life behind the scenes at Charleston. The staff at Charleston are encouraged to use their own creativity and experience to make Charleston a living experience for all.

The Charleston Trust is the organisation that cares for the former home of the Bloomsbury artists Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. The Bloomsbury group included some of the twentieth century’s most pioneering artists, writers and thinkers – people who believed in debate, creativity, beauty, innovation and truth and whose work was guided by a sense of fun, freedom and irreverence

Dr Darren Clarke is the Rausing Head of Collections, Research and Exhibitions for The Charleston Trust. He has curated several exhibitions including Orlando at the present time (2018) and Post-Impressionist Living: The Omega Workshops (2019). Among his published works he has contributed the essay, Queer Bloomsbury (EUP, 2016) and is Editor of the Charleston Press.
