Supporting the Community

As a B Corp, civic engagement is very important to us.

Each year, we ask our Rathfinny team members to nominate a charity of their choice that we can support. Our team are super engaged with fundraising efforts for causes close to their hearts. It’s a democratic process where we each vote from a long list until we have a few focus charities for the year.

As a result, events and fundraising efforts are reserved for these chosen charities. We sadly do not have the capacity to support with additional donations and initiatives.

If you want to find out more, please feel free to contact info@rathfinnyestate.com but we kindly ask that you do not send donation requests. Thank you for your understanding.

Charity Support 2025-2026

Between 2025-2026, we are delighted to support a handful of local and national charities.

Candle lit Carol Concert

Save the Children

We were proud to support Save the Children UK as the sparkling wine sponsor of their inaugural Carol Concert in December 2025, raising over £94,000.

Held at the beautiful St Paul’s Church in Knightsbridge, the evening brought together a wonderful line up of celebrity readers and a stunning performance from the Spirit Young Performers Company.

Following the concert, guests attended a VIP reception at the Mandarin Oriental, where our 2019 Rosé Brut was served.

Young Lives Vs Cancer Logo

Young Lives Vs Cancer

Nominated by Chef Chris. Young Lives vs Cancer supports children and young people with cancer, and their families, through expert social workers, financial help, emotional support and practical guidance at every stage. We donated some wines and a voucher to their auction to help raise vital funds.

St Wilfrid's Logo

St Wilfred's Hospice

Nominated by Jake in hospitality. St Wilfred's is a charity very dear to many of our local staff who live around the Eastbourne area. They provide compassionate end-of-life care and support for adults with life-limiting illness and their families across East Sussex. They have a busy calendar of fundraisings events so we donated prizes to their Christmas Gala, Charity Golf Day and 'Opera at the Movies' event.

Dementia Support Logo
DISC Dementia Support

Nominated by Becky from our accounting team. DISC Dementia Support helps people living with dementia and their carers through specialist advice, practical support, activities and community-based services across East Sussex. We donated a prize towards their Christmas raffle.

WRAS East Sussex Logo

WRAS East Sussex

Nominated by Debbie from our accounting team. WRAS has been a huge help to us over the years when we have had to call upon their services to help injured wildlife around the Vineyard. As a result, this charity is very popular with our staff and we donated a voucher towards their Christmas raffle.

Charity Support 2023-2024

Between 2023-2024, we were delighted to support a handful of local charities based in the Sussex community nominated by our team.

Rocking_Horse_Childrens_Charity_logo

Rocking-horse

Nominated by Brand Ambassador Richard & Maxine from the Cellar Door. Our donations contributed to raising £11,600 towards the 'Christmas Star' campaign, supporting children and their families who are in Hospital over Christmas. They deliver gifts to children, put on Christmas parties and festive activities, Santa visits and dogs cuddles in the hospitals. This also includes delivering meals and hampers on Christmas day.

Havens_Food_Cooperative_Logo

Havens

Nominated by Amy from the marketing team. We donated some Sussex Sparkling prizes to help support vital fundraising efforts for this local food waste rescue mission during the winter period, raising £600! Our talented Executive Chef, Chris Bailey, also made some delicious soups using donated produce to raise money at the Havens Halloween event.

You_Raise_Me_Up_Web_Logo

You Raise me up

Nominated by Gill from the reservations team. We worked with this fantastic local charity, based in Hailsham to donate an auction prize which generated enough funds to pay for 22 counselling sessions for bereaved parents who have lost a young person in their lives.

Cycling_Without_Age_Logo

Cycling Without Age

Nominated by Beth from the Vineyard. This fun initiative run by volunteers takes older people and those with mobility difficulties out on ‘trishaw’ cycle rides. The local Seaford base is hoping to raise enough money to build a secure unit to store their trishaws at a permanent site so we donated Rathfinny wine to support their fundraising events.

WOLO

WOLO is an Sussex-based cancer charity, supporting families affected by cancer. Each spring, we host a half marathon and 10k race around the Vineyard in aid of WOLO. Spaces are limited and the race is designed to raise money for a good cause whilst focused on being environmentally friendly. Every aspect is considered to create a zero-waste race, from reusing trail signage and banning plastic cups at refuel stands, to edible energy bar packaging, car sharing, tree planting initiatives and handmade slate medals made from old shoelaces. Plus, so much more! We can’t wait for next year.

Cork Keyrings for Charity

Thank you to all our lovely customers who purchased a keyring from our Cellar Door shop made from repurposed sparkling wine corks. We raised £600 for the East Sussex Branch of the Coastguard Association! This year, proceeds will now go to a charity called Flysheet Camps that offers holidays to young people between the ages of 8 and 16. During these holidays, they are given the opportunity to play team games, sing around a fire, cook in groups and learn woodcraft skills. These, along with other activities, help to build a sense of community amongst individuals who might otherwise not have the opportunity to do this.
