Rosé Winemaking in Sussex

Our Vineyard is located on the same band of chalk that forms the Paris Basin and is a short three miles from the English Channel. This makes our Vineyard the perfect terroir for growing grapes that make world-class wine. This wine, in turn, rivals the finest sparkling rosé from around the world.

At Rathfinny, our sparkling rosé is crafted using the traditional method, where the wine is bottled, and a little yeast and sugar are added. It then undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle to ensure the signature delicate mousse that defines our sparkling wine. Our wine is aged for a minimum of 24 months, a slightly shorter ageing process compared to our other wines, as we want to maintain the red fruit characteristics which open up on the palette.

Our wines are crafted in accordance to the Sussex PDO (Protected Designation of Origin), which ensures the exceptional quality and provenance of each bottle.
