Introducing our newest addition to the Cradle Valley family: Chardonnay 2023. Our still wine collection showcases our commitment to exceptional quality, with each vintage crafted from hand-harvested grapes grown on the south-facing chalk slope of Cradle Valley.
Our Cradle Valley collection expresses the character of our family Estate in Sussex, made with methods that are kind to our land, people, community and wider environment.
Tasting Note & Food Match
Our Chardonnay from the 2023 vintage expresses hints of oak on the nose, with light notes of pear, apple, vanilla and mango on the palate. A rich vein of citrus fruit prevails, followed by a long peach finish.
This is a lovely light Chardonnay that would pair equally well with shellfish or a chicken pie.
2023 Vintage
The very warm spring of 2023 gave way to a wet summer, but a warm late summer period pulled through and yielded a sizeable harvest of ripe grapes.
About Cradle Valley
Rathfinny Estate is located in the South Downs National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty in Southern England. It occupies the main part of the Cradle Valley, on a south-facing slope close to the iconic Cuckmere Valley, just three miles from the sea and the famous Seven Sisters cliffs.
