Dine outside in amongst the vines and the beautiful East Sussex countryside. The picnic hampers, curated by our Head Chef Chris Bailey, are a reflection of our love of seasonal, modern British cuisine. They include a three-course picnic of a selection of summery starters, a choice of a main followed by an individual Victoria sponge with English strawberries and cream. All to be enjoyed with our Sussex wines.
In line with government guidelines, social distancing rules will be followed within the Vineyard. Each picnic booking will be allocated a pitch with a table. Picnic hampers are pre-bookable online. Due to popularity and unpredictable weather, we are moving our Seafood Kitchen to the Flint Barns for the month of September!
The Seafood Kitchen menu offers a takeaway service to be enjoyed in the Vineyard or in the Flint Barns Dining Room, with no need to pre-book. Enjoy delights straight from the day boats such as lobster and chips, beer battered fish fillet with chips, mushy peas and tartare. We encourage guests to bring their own picnic rugs and chairs to sit on the Flint Barns bank or in the Vineyard or buy a rug from the Cellar Door shop. In bad weather, limited seating in the Flint Barns Dining Room will be available to guests dining on a first-come-first-serve basis. Last orders for seafood is 5.45pm.
Rathfinny Estate’s re-opening is in line with government COVID-19 advice and restrictions are in place to ensure the practice of current guidance around safety and social distancing.

Situated in the beautiful South Downs of Sussex, the restaurant has panoramic views of the Vineyard and the onlooking countryside.
