Our Tasting Room & Cellar Door
ABOUT. Situated within our Sussex Heritage Award-winning Winery, with panoramic views of the Vineyard and the beautiful South Downs, you can drop in to dine, taste and purchase our Sussex wines and Seven Sisters spirits.
Led by chef Chris Bailey, the Tasting Room restaurant, awarded The Plate MICHELIN 2020, offers dining from a menu of produce-driven dishes, reflecting our love of seasonal, modern British cuisine, that changes on a regular basis.
In addition, we host special dining events so keep an eye on our events page for more details.
We also have a carefully selected range of gifts and wine related products from our Cellar Door.
Lunch and event reservations can be made online, please click on the button below. If you would rather speak to someone, please call us and our reservation team will be happy to help. Spaces are held at our high tables for light bites walk-ins.
- With all that is happening with COVID-19, we hope you are in good health. We are taking all necessary steps to follow WHO and government guidelines. We have had to close the Tasting Room, Cellar Door, Flint Barns and all public access to the Estate including the Rathfinny trail until further notice. We are still offering complimentary local deliveries (contact-free) within 10-miles. You can also purchase our wine from online stockists (click here).
- Monday to Sunday. 11am – 4pm
Taste Our Wine
Drop in to the Tasting Room to taste our Sussex wines, subject to availability. Our Sussex Sparkling wine is crafted in the Traditional Method, where the secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle, after which it is left to age on the yeast lees for a minimum of 24 months to develop wonderful autolytic notes. As well as producing Sussex Sparkling wines we also make a limited amount of Sussex still wine under the Cradle Valley label.
TOUR & TASTING
Join us on a tour of the Estate, during which you will see how we turn our grapes into Sussex Sparkling wine. Walking through the vines in a small group with our experienced guide, exploring the Vineyard and the history and wildlife of the Estate, allows you to fully appreciate Rathfinny’s place in this classic landscape.
During this enjoyable tour, you will learn how a typical year of growing vines and wine production progresses. Among the highlights are a visit to our RIBA nominated Winery to learn about the process and care it takes to make traditional method Sussex Sparkling wine.
Dine In Our Tasting Room
Led by chef Chris Bailey, the Tasting Room restaurant offers dining from a menu of seasonal, modern British cuisine that changes weekly. We offer light bites, lunch and dinner. We do recommend booking.
Children are welcome at the Tasting Room during the day. As we are a working Vineyard they must be supervised at all times, we want to keep everyone safe. We don’t have a specific menu for children but they are welcome to eat from the light bites menu at lunch time if the full menu is not suitable. We would generally recommend that dinner reservations are suitable for children over the age of 12, but please do call us if you would like to discuss in more detail.
