Experience Overview

As a coastal wine estate, seafood is a natural pairing with our wines. Over lunch, you will learn about the history of Rathfinny and try two of our Sussex Sparkling wines and two still wines from our Cradle Valley label. This tasting will show you how our clean, fresh and fruit-driven wines pair well with fish and chips. The tasting includes our new Classic Cuvée 2020 and Blanc de Blancs 2019, plus our Cradle Valley Chardonnay 2023 and Pinot Gris 2024.

The tasting will take place in our Tasting Room, so you can sit back and enjoy the panoramic views of the vines with freshly prepared fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce, made by our chefs.

In the UK, Rathfinny Wine Estate is one of the closest vineyards to the sea – just three miles from the English channel and the iconic Seven Sisters Country Park. The quality of the grapes we grow are indebted to our site which is situated on chalk soils with a south-facing aspect, where we benefit from coastal breezes and a long growing season. This helps to produce wines with perfectly balanced acidity, fruit-forward flavours and a signature mouthfeel.

This event takes place during English Wine Week which is an annual celebration encouraging everyone to get behind the incredible range of high quality, home-grown wines that we produce in this country.

Can you cater for dietary requirements?

We cannot accommodate any specific dietary requirements for this event, however, items can be removed upon request.

How can I make amendments to my booking?

Bookings can be changed to an alternative date if a request is received seven days or more prior to the date of the tour. Bookings can only be moved once.

What is your cancellation policy?

Payments will be refunded in full if a cancellation request is received at least seven days prior to the date of the tour. For requests received between 48 hours and six days’ notice, a partial refund of 50% of the total payment will be issued. For cancellation requests received with less than 48 hours’ notice, no refund will be offered; however, we will will be happy to transfer the original booking into another name.

Are children and dogs allowed on Tours?

Tours and Tastings are not recommended for people under the age of 18 due to the nature of the experience. If anybody under the age of 18 does attend, charges will apply. Please note that dogs are not permitted on our Tour and Tasting experiences (except when the dog is an assistance dog).
