About The Beacon

This beautiful country house has a long history of hosting glamorous parties as well as providing shelter for those in need. From the tea rooms and pleasure gardens created by Sir Walter Harris, to the important role it played in housing both Basque and Jewish refugees in wartime, it’s personality and charm is still present in the beautifully refurbished hotel guests enjoy today. Complete with seven uniquely designed rooms, two restaurants, terrace and gardens, The Beacon is the perfect destination for a food and wine escape in the Kent countryside.

About our Rathfinny

10th Harvest Anniversary Celebrations

Each year, Rathfinny welcomes more than 200 British pickers, predominantly from the local Sussex community, to hand-pick each grape. This is an essential element to maintaining quality as we are a single-site, grower-producer crafting Traditional Method vintage wines with Sussex PDO status.

2024 marks 10 years since the first harvest at Rathfinny. To celebrate, we are co-hosting a series of wine dinners around the country during the harvest season between September and October.

Rathfinny is a gastronomy wine that is best enjoyed with food, so we’re collaborating with a range of chefs to bring you the best pairing combinations. You will sample our Sussex Sparkling portfolio (plus a surprise or two) over dinner as we share our story from grape to glass over the past decade.
