Visiting the Estate during Harvest

We can't wait to welcome you to experience the best time of year on our Sussex Vineyard. Here's some helpful information when planning your visit between 25th September – 9th November 2024.

Travel Directions

As a B Corp, we always encourage car sharing and public transport wherever possible but appreciate this isn’t always convenient.

The nearest train stations to the Estate are:

Polegate (15-minute car transfer), Lewes (20-minute car transfer), Berwick ( 10-minute car transfer) and Seaford (10-minute car transfer). Check out our

Taxis get booked up so please do make a reservation in advance. See our Directions page for taxi firm recommendations.

If you are travelling by car, exit the A27 to Alfriston on Alfriston Road (on the turning to Drusilla’s Zoo). Pass through Alfriston village and then pass Riverdale House B & B on your right. Drive a further 50 metres until you see a large drive to your right which is the entrance to Rathfinny Estate.

Please be advised to pay close attention to signage across the Estate. As we are a working Vineyard, this will keep you safe and guide you to where you need to go.

You can find our address and the venue (Tasting Room/Flint Barns/Cellar Door) you are visiting on Google Maps.

Visit our Directions page for more information.

Visitor Parking

Please be aware parking is limited during harvest as we have a large number of grape pickers on site, in addition to visitors. Car sharing, taxis and public transport is encouraged.

A parking attendant will be on hand from time to time to help with parking during busy periods.

Info for Tasting Room, The Hut, Cellar Door & Dosage Tasting Guests

The usual parking spaces outside the Winery building are suspended due to harvest operations when the grapes are received into the presses.

Please park in areas where signage indicated visitor parking. This includes the current overflow car park and the car park at the side/rear of the Vineyard Shed. Guests should not park in staff spaces, nor off-road in the headlines and vines as this can be dangerous and impractical.

There are three spaces marked by blue traffic cones labelled with a blue disabled badge opposite the Vineyard Shed.

Info for Flint Barns & Rathfinny Cottage Guests

There are two disabled bays in the Flint Barns car park. There is no change here and guests should follow the standard parking signage.

Dogs

Due to the busy nature of the Vineyard and health and safety implications of winemaking and preparing food in our restaurants, dogs are not permitted in the Tasting Room, Cellar Door, Flint Barns Dining Room nor on Dosage Tastings.

Dogs are allowed to accompany overnight guests in the Flint Barns and Rathfinny Cottage. However, they must stay in your rooms and are not permitted in our restaurants.

Dogs are also allowed at The Hut and must be kept on a lead at all times.

We can accommodate assistance dogs and kindly ask that you let us know in advance of your visit.

Health & Safety Advice

It is a busy time of year and we want to keep you safe with helpful advice, however, it is your responsibility to act at your own risk.

Please be aware of harvest vehicle movements passing along the roadways and through car parks. This includes ATVs, trailers, tractors, forklifts, telehandlers and other estate vehicles.

It is essential that guests only park in designated areas to prevent blocking the access to Estate vehicles.

Pedestrians must walk on the grass, not the roadway, which is the norm all year round. There is a designated walking route which you can follow safely.
