Its been a while since I’ve placed our sightings from the Estate and Trail….anyone would think we’ve been busy!
The informative maps are installed and we have also placed one talking post on the Trail as well. We have two more to follow very shortly.
As you’ve seen from our Blogs, Harvest 2016 has finished and the vines completed their work for 2016 heartily. Within days their leaves started to turn and fall. Pruning commenced just prior to the end of the year and is now in full swing
Sightings maybe fewer for species like the bees and spiders that I commonly comment on, but don’t be fooled – there’s still plenty to see. Towards the end of the year we had a ‘visit’ from the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) and apart from ensuring everything here was ship shape and all was where it should be – the inspector in question made some really positive comments about the numbers of birds (quantity and species variety). Luckily, our grapes have gone!
Flocks of fieldfare, linnets and redwing are common place flitting across the vines. The skylarks are STILL singing. If you see anything exciting then please feel free to let me know.
