Our grassland banks on the southern edge of the Estate are really coming alive with colour (and sounds and scents). This is the wonderful yellow flower of the Horseshoe vetch – a much needed food source for many species of bee and butterfly.
The smaller elliptical leaf in this image is the Salad burnet – which can be eaten and is supposed to be cucumber like in taste. However, I would not condone any foraging or eating of any flower or plant unless you’re 100% confident.
