Ragwort – sparsely found around our Trail and on some field edges.  Most of our land not under vine is either mown or grazed so the spread of this bright yellow plant is restricted.  As this image shows, this plant is often maligned, sometimes for good reason, but it is also host to a myriad of species – the most notable illustrated here being the cinnabar moth (in its caterpillar stage).
